For over 90 years, the Girl Scout Promise
and Law have served as a moral compass,
guiding girls to personal success. As a
committed adult you can impact the girls in
your community and beyond. We must ensure
that program opportunities are available to
every girl in all populations and geographic
areas in our jurisdiction. This cannot be
achieved without adult volunteers. Therefore a
very high priority is placed on recruiting,
training, placing, recognizing and retaining
volunteers.

Some of the opportunities to work directly with girls are:
|
| • |
Troop / Group Leader & Assistant Leader:
Work directly with girls to plan and carry out Girl Scout Program on a regular basis (one year
appointment; renewable). A Troop / Group Leader should consider the program level they are
most comfortable with by reviewing the Girl Scout Program Levels. A
“By Girls – For Girls” approach is at the heart of the Troop / Group planning.
|
| • |
Troop / Group Committee:
Work with other troop volunteers on duties that might include: record keeping, coordination of
supplies, transportation etc., troop newsletter, sharing a particular skill / talent or product
sales. (variable time commitments, renewable at project end).
